Our Story

Maica is an Australian built organisation with more than a decade of experience working with social and nonprofit organisations. The goal has always been the same: better tools for the people looking after others.

Australian healthcare has its own way of working. Maica is built around it, with the sector’s funding models, care requirements and everyday realities at its core.

Our Mission

Maica exists so care providers spend less of the day on administration and more of it with the people they support.

That purpose guides what we build. Simpler work for providers. Better support for participants. Technology that makes a difference to the day.

Our Path

1. The seed. Working alongside providers, we kept seeing the same thing. The complexity of care spread across spreadsheets and systems that had never been built to talk to each other.

2. The first steps. Then, the NDIS released a digital integration which gave us a place to begin. Claiming and Plan data could now sit inside the same system providers used to manage care.

3. Growing stronger. Budgeting, Care Planning, Service Delivery and Billing followed, each one built with the providers already using Maica every day.

4. Beyond the NDIS. As Maica continued to grow, we moved into other Funding Sources. Aged Care and Residential Aged Care came next, each with their ownFunding, Claiming, Rostering and Compliance needs to met.

5. One product became six. Maica now sits at the centre of a connected suite, with Maica Forms, Maica Docs, Maica Learning, Maica Envelopes and Maica Campaigns. Each is licensed on its own. Shared data holds them together.

6. Still building. The sector keeps moving, and so do we. New obligations from the government and new ideas from the providers who use Maica every day all shape what comes next.

Our People

As mentioned, we're an Australian team with decades of technology experience and a shared focus on care.

Between us we have spent over fifteen years across Australia's social, nonprofit and healthcare sectors, and that experience sits behind every decision we make.

We want to enjoy the work and make it matter. That means building technology that helps the people delivering care.

The team spans product, engineering, implementation and support, with people who have worked inside provider organisations as well as alongside them.

The Maica Care Pledge

The Maica Care Pledge gives Australian healthcare nonprofits registered with the ACNC their first 10 users free so more of their budget can go towards care.
