We’ve wrapped up Support at Home development! This update covers key features and includes video demonstrations.

We’re excited to share that development for Maica’s Support at Home functionality has now been wrapped up — a major milestone in our preparation for the upcoming reforms!

You’ll find all the key info in this release, including an important announcement from the Department of Health and Aged Care regarding the revised Aged Care Reforms rollout, a video demonstration showing how the claiming process works within Maica, and a detailed breakdown of the new feature upgrades.

There’s also a preview of what’s coming next, including Expenditure & Budget Trend Analysis, along with an introduction and link to our new Maica Comms page—your central hub for all updates and announcements. Scroll down to explore the full details.

Update from the Department of Health and Aged Care: The Government has announced a deferral of the new Aged Care Act, with the start date now moving from 1 July 2025 to 1 November 2025. This gives us all extra time to get ready and prepare for the transition. During this period, the Government will also be releasing implementation guidance & training materials to support a smooth rollout. You can read the full statement via the link here.

Additional Feature Upgrades: Several Maica features have been built and upgraded with the Support at Home rollout. These include:

  1. Bulk Care Recipient Sync: To support a smooth transition, Maica allows you to execute a bulk sync of ALL your participants with a single click. This process will retrieve budget details for each relevant participant.
  2. Pooled Care Management Budget Sync: Sync and view your Care Management pooled funds at an organisational level, at any time. This includes visibility over past claim period budgets. The screenshot below shows how Care Management Budgets will be displayed in the Support at Home settings.

  1. Validation of Approved Services: When adding funding to a Service Agreement, Maica validates that the service being added is an Approved Service under the Participant’s funding. This protects data integrity and ensures you get paid for the services being delivered.
  2. Real Time Expenditure: Maica automatically links Invoice Line Items for Services directly to the appropriate Care Recipient’s budget, so you can see what is being spent before it is claimed.
  3. Items & Wraparounds: Maica supports the claiming of Items and Wraparounds delivered under Support at Home

So, what’s next? Now that development is complete, we are in the final phase of testing. Once our application is approved, we’ll be able to confirm the official release date.

In addition, a Estimated Expenditure and Budget Trend Analysis feature will be coming soon. It will allow you to use Maica to analyse and forecast expenditure for your Services under Support at Home.
